We are very excited to announce that you can now keep your summer tan all year long! His & Hers Waxing Now Offers Airbrush Spray Tanning at our Salt Lake City location.
You may think that keeping that summer tan is easy – just hop in the tanning bed. We hope we don’t have to tell you about the health concerns with that. But we can address the fact that it can cause sun damage to your skin and create premature aging symptoms. Thinking of skipping the tanning bed but jumping in the spray tan booth at the tanning salon? While a slightly better option than the tanning bed, we’d like to offer the better alternative in airbrush spray tanning.
What is the difference between spray tanning booths and airbrush spray tanning?
Spray tanning booths can often lead to streaking and over application which can mean the color may not look natural and you may end up with that dreaded orange tint. With airbrush tanning being hand applied, risk of streaking goes down as does the risk of mis-matched colors. The technician can also pay special attention to areas that have a tendency to react more with the solution, lie the elbows, knees and feet.
Spray tanning solution utilizes Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This works by reacting to oxygen and skin protein in the outer layer of your skin. The result is a natural tan without the harmful and damaging effects of UV rays. The color will continue to develop over a few hours and will generally last up to 10 days. It will start to fade as you naturally shed your skin. Moisturizing can help extend the life of your tan.
